New City Kids' mission is loving kids for change to create community of spiritual, leadership, academic, and musical development. Children and teens have the opportunity to explore music and academics in a fun, creative environment. By surrounding low-income local youth with a community of love and development, New City Kids strives to set youth on a path of transformation that will carry them forward for the rest of their lives. Volunteer for an 8-week online reading program that helps 1st through 6th graders to read and fight COVID learning loss. This program helps increase children literacy and excitement around reading through fun Zoom classrooms. Kids are encouraged by adult staff, teen staff, and volunteers to read books together. Teaching experience is NOT required!
Volunteer Age requirement: 16 yrs and up
