Small Groups & Classes

Proverbs 27:17

Liberty Corner Presbyterian Church offers classes and small groups to encourage and support your growing faith. Learn more about the Bible, ask hard questions about life's challenges, and develop genuine community with other believers.

Ascend Small Groups

Ascend is a practice for those growing to be more like Jesus. Using the rhythms of daily prayer and weekly conversation with others, Ascend invites us to reflect on how we are growing in three areas: gratitude, surrender, and calling.

Women's Bible Studies

Wednesday | 7 pm

Leader | Susan Kennedy
Women meet weekly for study, discussion, and fellowship around a book or Bible study series. New participants are always welcome.

Are you dreading Christmas? This year choose to make Christmas a joyous celebration of Christ's birth. Join the Wednesday Women's Bible Study on November 3, as they begin their next study, Advent Conspiracy.  Learn how to substitute consumerism with compassion using four concepts: worship fully, spend less, give more, and love all.

This group will alternate each week between meeting in person and via zoom. To join the study or for Zoom information, please contact Susan Kennedy.

Christian Reading Group

Every Other Monday | 7 pm

Leader | N. Janine Dickey
This new small group will read and discuss Christian literature and writings -- old and current. We will begin with "Mere Christianity" by C.S. Lewis (first published 1952), followed by a 2021 publication "Hope in Times of Fear," by Tim Keller. Our readings are meant to inspire personal insight into Christianity and evoke questions about our faith which we will discuss in a confidential small group environment. We welcome persons in any and all stages of their faith journey and with varied religious backgrounds.

Our group will meet every other week on Mondays from 7-8:30 pm. We will begin remotely using Zoom and discuss one or more chapters per meeting. Occasional in-person gatherings may be scheduled to enrich our group's relational growth.

Meditation Group

Tuesday | 8:30 am or 4:30 pm

Meditation is an ancient Christian discipline that offers both spiritual and physical benefits. We will explore techniques that anyone can learn and use on their own.  Experience guided meditations that are focused on opening our hearts and minds to God. Equally beneficial for the regular attender and occasional participant.

Thursday Group

Thursday | 7:30 pm

Leaders | Timothy & Sue Grubb
This small group has been meeting continuously since 1992. Each Thursday night, we join in hybrid fashion – live, and via Zoom – for 90 minutes of singing, lessons, and prayer. New members welcome.

Heaven
Faith Cafe will study a 7-week series on eternal life based on the book "Heaven" by Randy Alcorn. Through video teaching, the author addresses serious and not-so-serious questions about heaven, provides a thoroughly researched description of heaven, and helps participants develop a deeper understanding of our eternal destination.  Topics will include:
  • Oct 24 | Relationships in Heaven
  • Oct 31 | Our Greatest Adventure
The Treasure Principle
Sundays in November
You can't take your treasures with you, but you can send them on ahead! Based on the teaching of Jesus from Matthew 6: 19-20, The Treasure Principle explores six "Treasure Principles" found in Scripture. In this four-session video presentation, Randy Alcorn's teaching along with personal testimonies will help you find true joy as you start managing God's money and resources.
